How mail-in clothing donation works
Most places that take clothing donations require a drop-off. FashionablyGood works entirely by mail: you box up dresses, suits, shoes, jewelry, or costumes, ship them to us, and we handle the rest. We photograph and list each piece, rent it out again and again, and send 100% of net rental profits to charity.
Because we itemize every piece, your tax receipt lists each item individually instead of "one bag of clothes." That documentation matters if you plan to claim the donation on your taxes.
Two ways to ship

Mail-in donation FAQ
Is shipping really free?
Yes. Request a mailer and we send a prepaid label; the shipping cost comes out of our budget, not yours. If you ship on your own dime instead, your postage may itself be deductible as a donation-related expense. Keep the receipt.
How fast do I get my tax receipt?
We go through every piece, list each one, and email an itemized 501(c)(3) receipt within two weeks of your box arriving.
Does the receipt list a dollar value?
Per IRS rules, the donor sets fair market value, not the charity. Your receipt itemizes each piece; our 2026 value guide helps you assign defensible values.
Can I donate from any state?
Yes. Donations arrive from all over the country. If it ships, we take it, whether you're across town or across the US.
What happens to my clothes?
We photograph and list each piece in our rental catalog. Instead of being worn once more and landfilled, your pieces get rented again and again, and 100% of net rental profits go to charity. See where the money goes.
Ready to clear the closet?
Request a free prepaid mailer and your donation is a doorstep handoff, not an errand.
